Members of the IBEW who work in Construction and Maintenance are the best trained craftspeople you will find anywhere.
Before a member can call themselves a “Journeyman Inside Wireman or Outside Lineman,” as well as many other classifications, such as “Telecommunications Technicians” and “Residential Wireman,” etc; they must complete an apprenticeship program with extensive classroom studies and on the job training. Check out our Local Union’s web sites to learn more about the apprenticeship program in your area.
While we believe in providing a superior product (our knowledge and labour), we also believe that our members should be fairly compensated for their work and afforded the respect that they are due as professionals.
