The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) First District is proud to announce that Brother Jonathan Lemoine has been elected by the Indigenous Workers Caucus at the 29th Convention of the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) as the alternate to the position of Indigenous Equity Vice-President.
Brother Lemoine is a member of IBEW Local 353 in Toronto, Ontario where he works as an electrician. He is a proud labour activist, has participated in the 2019 CLC Indigenous Lobby Day and is a graduate of the CLC Labour College. In addition, he is a delegate to the Ontario Federation of Labour First Nations, Metis and Inuit circle, current recording secretary for the Peel Region Labour Council and a member of the town of Shelburne Inclusion and Equity committee.
Brother Lemoine fights for the rights of all workers and gives a much-needed voice to the inequities faced by Indigenous Peoples in this country. He brings passion and empathy to his work and encourages others to do the same. He is a great asset to not only the IBEW but the entire labour movement.
Please join me in congratulating Brother Lemoine for being elected as the alternate for the position of Indigenous Equity Vice-President.
In solidarity,
Tom Reid
International Vice President
IBEW First District
