Q: Are local unions able to suspend general meetings during this time?
A: Local Unions seeking to suspend General Meetings are to submit the request in writing to the International Vice President; such requests will be dealt with on a month-by-month basis.
Q: Are local unions able to suspend Executive Board meetings during this time?
A: Local Unions are still required to have a monthly Executive Board meeting to deal with the business of the Local. The Executive Board meetings can be held via teleconference.
Q: Is my Local Union Service Representative still available?
A: International President Lonnie Stephenson has restricted air travel for all International Representatives in the U.S.A. and Canada however your servicing representative is available by telephone and email as required.
Q: Why is my jobsite/workplace still open?
A: Jobsites and workplaces may be still operating for a variety of reasons and each situation is unique. Please contact your IBEW union steward or local union office for more details. Please practice the guidelines set out by Health Canada including frequent hand washing, social distancing and always make sure you have your proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

A: You should first raise your workplace concerns with your IBEW union steward. If you don’t know who your IBEW union steward is, contact your local union office.
